“As a solid boulder does not shake in the wind, the wise are not moved by censure or praise.”
In our minds we strut our accomplishments and fret our failures. The more pridefully we rejoice in our achievements, and the harsher we admonish our shortcomings, the more prone we are to pass similar sentiments onto others. Judge not lest ye be judged.
Thus, to be unmoved by the opinions of others you must be conservative and even-handed in judgment of yourself. Judgement of the self begets judgment toward others, ultimately resulting in the perception of judgment from others. There is not one without the rest, so there can only be all or none.
